WE WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC IN JUNE ON THE SUMMER SOLSTICE
What is the MPower Co-operative?
The Mpower Co-operative is a community of small green energy projects. In this community are the resources to learn about green energy, how it can be generate by everyday people, and share the results of their project in data and experiences. Each group project is given a space to brainstorm, access to resources, places to reflect, and a datafeed to report back power generation stats.
The Co-op hopes to help people create solutions for themselves on solving the global energy crisis, climate change, a sustainable existence and other small ideas. We hope to learn from what's here now and the knowledge that the co-op gains as it grows. The site is geared for students and teachers, but any group of green minded people with a small energy project are welcome to join.
MPower Co-operative is powered by Drupal, so it has lots of community capabilities, Pachube, an api for data reporting and cool dat representations, and you, the generators of great ideas, experiences and green power.
The MPower Cooperative hopes to develop:
• Conscious Users of Electricity - Users that are aware of how power is made and consumed, what are the advantages and limitations of renewable sources, and how to use our resources responsibly.
• System Thinkers – By merging the results of the wide variety of projects, students can see a large effect produced from many small inputs. By sharing ideas and tinkering with solutions, many voices can refine and improve ideas.
• Makers/Inventors – By creating and refining solutions to energy needs, students gain ownership of these solutions and a set of skills that can be applied to invention, project development and solving larger issues in the future.
We will boost Minties mightily. Using Adafruit's Minty Boost recharger for iPhones, Droids and other usb power devices, we will connect up a lithium battery, a lipo charge system and a 2 watt solar panel to make a solar powered recharging system.

Submit you data each day to co-op so we can see how much power the how group has generated.
We are figuring out how we want to generate power. Solar looks easy to do but wind looks like more fun.
